Coke Salad

Also known as Cherry Coke Salad, Coco Cola Salad, Cherry Cola Salad

A dark jello like salad full of nuts.

Ingredients
  • 1 15 oz can crushed pineapple
  • 1 can Bing cherries{red cherries in heavy sweet sauce}
  • 1 package strawberry jello
  • 1 package cherry jello
  • 1 small pkg cream cheese
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 13 fluid ounces of coca cola
Directions
  • Drain pineapple and cherries, saving juice.
  • Check each cherry for seeds left in!!
  • Heat pineapple and cherry juice,
  • Add jello and chopped up cream cheese, while juice is hot, stirring to melt cheese.
  • Add pineapple, cherries and nuts.
  • Chill until it begins to jell and add coke.

This salad has a sweet, nutty flavor with the occasional burst of cherry and always a subtle hint of carbonation cola taste.
Other variations exist on the Internet varying this and that. One had mayonnaise as an ingredient. Mayonnaise?!?!?! Yuck. Stick with this recipe.
